Running costs at a glance
WarmFall uses 2kWh an hour at full power. Prices at 26.32p per kWh:
| Use | Full power | Thermostat ~60% |
|---|---|---|
| 1 hour | £0.53 | £0.32 |
| 4-hour evening | £2.11 | £1.26 |
| 8 hours | £4.21 | £2.53 |
| Winter month (4h/day × 30) | £63.17 | £37.90 |
The 60% figure is an illustration — how often the thermostat cycles depends on your room size, insulation and outside temperature.

Save by heating the room you're in
Electricity costs more per unit than gas, so WarmFall isn't "cheaper energy". The saving comes from what you heat.
If you spend most evenings in one room, warming just that room can use far less energy than firing up the boiler to heat every radiator in the house. Turn the central heating down, keep your main room cosy, and you only pay for the heat you feel.
How much you save depends on your home and habits, so we don't promise a fixed percentage.

| WarmFall | Fast (ceramic + fan) | Thermostat, timer, remote | 2 screws, plug in | Living rooms, bedrooms, offices |
| Oil-filled radiator | Slow to heat up | Usually basic thermostat | None — floor standing | Steady background heat |
| Basic fan heater | Fast | Often no thermostat | None | Short bursts |
| Panel heater | Medium | Varies by model | Wall-fixed, may need hard wiring | Permanent fitting |
| Central heating | Whole house | Room thermostat / TRVs | Existing system | Heating many rooms |
Every plug-in electric heater turns almost all its electricity into heat; the difference is how well you can control it. Full comparison.

Running cost questions
How much electricity does WarmFall use?
At full power WarmFall uses 2kWh per hour. Once the room reaches your set temperature, the thermostat cycles the heater off and on, so average use per hour is lower.
How much does WarmFall cost per hour?
About £0.53 an hour at full 2000W, using the Ofgem price cap of 26.32p per kWh. With the thermostat holding the room it is typically less.
How much does it cost to run for an evening?
A 4-hour evening at full power is about £2.11. If the thermostat has the heater on around 60% of the time, it is about £1.26.
Is WarmFall cheaper than central heating?
Per unit, mains gas is usually cheaper than electricity. But if you only need one room warm, heating just that room with WarmFall can cost less than running the boiler to heat the whole house. It depends on your home, tariff and habits.
Is a ceramic heater more efficient than other electric heaters?
All plug-in electric heaters turn almost 100% of the electricity they use into heat. The difference is control: a good thermostat, timer and directing heat to where you sit help you use less.
Does a lower power setting save money?
A lower setting uses less electricity per hour, but may take longer to warm the room. The thermostat is usually the best saver because it stops heating once the room is warm.
Will WarmFall work on an Economy 7 tariff?
Yes, it plugs into any UK socket. You'll pay your tariff's rate for the time you use it, so cheaper night-rate hours cost less. Check your own unit rates with your supplier.
How can I cut my running costs further?
Set the thermostat to a comfortable 19–21°C, use the timer, close the door, draught-proof and only heat rooms you're using.
